There is something special awaiting everyone at the new Santa Maria Public Library!
From preschoolers to high school seniors, Youth Services answers all your needs. Programs, storytimes for 3-5 year olds and elementary students, special events including storytellers, music, magicians and ventriloquists happen here at the Library all year round.
For teens the Library offers a Teen Advisory Board and teen volunteer group along with bi-monthly teen events ranging from Stupid Cupid parties to gaming.
There are computers for kids to research school projects and type reports. A Listening Center to help build reading skills, and a knowledgeable staff that can help students find information for assignments or recommend the perfect book for recreational reading.
Teachers and educators, have not been forgotten either - Youth Services staff encourages instructors to book a class visit to the Library or invite the Childrens' Librarians to come to their classroom and share the Library's good reads with the students.
In addition, the Library's new service BookLetters offers information about current and upcoming titles for every reading level, reviews for books, enewsletters, and best sellers lists for children, teens, and adults!
