School Vision and History

 

Our vision is that all students at Lakeview Junior High will experience equal access to a well-balanced, challenging education designed to prepare them to think, communicate and achieve to their fullest potential academically, socially, and personally.

 

Lakeview Junior High was established in the year 1964 by the Orcutt Union School District due to the increased population of Orcutt Junior High. Today the school has grown to over 700 students housed in 27 classrooms and taught by 31 teachers. Lakeview has had 7 principals. The school's mascot is the Trojan Warrior. Our school colors are black and gold. Lakeview has been recognized as a California Distinguished School three times: 1988, 1990, and 1996, and awarded National Blue Ribbon status in 1998.

The Los Alamos School District is a one school district located in the town of Los Alamos, California. The school, Olga Reed Elementary, named after a former teacher has a student population 232 students in grades K-8.

 

Olga Reed School maintains a comprehensive After School Program on campus in which 50% of the students are enrolled daily until 6:00pm. There is also a Family Resource Center available to students and their families through which tutoring, counseling, medical services, and family support is offered. A Youth Program for students operates on campus every afternoon and provides counseling and technology literacy.
